"The cry for action by Mr. Miller, disclosed in documents made public for the first time last week, came at the end of an extraordinary four-month period for the Japanese automaker. In that time, federal regulators say, there had been deliberate efforts by company officials to keep information about possible defects from the government.

Toyota: "Problem is fixed! Acceleration is your fault!"

In investigating the case of the out-of-control Prius last week, Toyota found that the vehicle was working perfectly - the floor mats were ok and the break pedal was not under recall, so it couldn't possibly be anything else.  right?  right?

Interesting watching Toyoda's Testimony live

Even after the reports, Toyoda is denying problems in the electrical system and is blaming everything on the pedal design and on floormats.  It seems like they're just continuing half-measures and unenforceable promises... I know what my next vehicle won't be.
